Staff Spotlight: Rebecca Fox

Meet Rebecca Fox, Executive Assistant at Ambre Blends! Rebecca worked at Ambre Blends from 2008-2013 as the Production Manager, then seasonally for the next two years. Thankfully, she came back full time with us as of January 1, 2016 and we’re so happy she’s here. What does she do at Ambre Blends? Anything and everything since she’s so knowledgeable about all the facets of Ambre Blends. From marketing and sales to shipping, production and customer service, she can do it all.

What is a day in the life of Rebecca like? BUSY! I work full time at Ambre Blends, part time at a busy restaurant in downtown Indianapolis and I have a two year old. When I’m not working, I’m being entertained by my daughter, Nola. She’s hilarious! My husband, Fox, and I are lucky in love with our sweet little girl. We do a lot of laughing, playing, a LOT of reading, coloring, dressing up…I could go on and on. Somewhere in there I try to make time for myself, my best friend/husband, my amazing friends, family, our dog and cat.

What is your favorite part about working for Ambre Blends? I work with some of my best friends. We are truly a family here at Ambre Blends!!!

What are some of your favorite organic products you use? Well, I use Ambre Blends products everyday. Since I had my daughter I’ve been trying to make the switch to more natural/healthy products in my house. I’ve gotten rid of all of our plastic storage containers and opted for glass and I’m slowly switching out all of our pots and pans to ceramic ones. The biggest change for our household has been cleaning products. There are so many non-toxic, natural and/or organic options out there now. I use different brands for different things; Dr. Bronners, Seventh Generation, Better Life and Earth Friendly are a few brands I use right now. On a side note, I’m a big fan of Pact organic apparel. Their socks are amazing!

Favorite Ambre Blends product/essence? The Body Cream and Skin Tonic are my go to products. I alternate between the two. The Body Cream or Skin Tonic is the first thing I put on when I get out of the shower. I usually wear the Ambre Body Cream (or Tonic) and layer it with the essence in one of the other scents. Right now I’m into Solace. I’m a huge fan of the spritzer as well. I spray it in my hair when it’s still wet, on my clothes, shower curtain, linens, rugs, heating vents, in my car…EVERYWHERE! The Solace and Unmasque deodorant are fantastic as well!

What’s a fun fact about you that people don’t know? I wanted to be a lawyer for the ACLU when I was in high school. I’ve always been passionate about standing up for individual rights and freedoms. That or a DJ…I love music! Oh and I LOVE the city of New Orleans. Most people know that about me though.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Outside of work, I enjoy hanging out with my daughter and husband. I also love spending time with my amazing friends and family, checking out live music, traveling, and spending time outdoors.

Why should people be using Ambre Blends? What’s the number one thing you wish people knew about Ambre Blends? Our products are handmade. They are light and natural in scent. They smell AMAZING and won’t offend people who are sensitive to scent. Unlike perfumes, we don’t incorporate chemicals into our products. We strive to use the best natural and organic ingredients available to us.

What has been one of the most rewarding experiences about working at Ambre Blends? Being a part of the Ambre Blends family and helping to create something we all believe in. We make products that make people feel good about themselves. I think that’s pretty awesome!

What was your first job? When I was 15, I got a job delivering a small local newspaper in my parent’s neighborhood. I made $40 for 2 1/2 – 3 hours of work a week. Not a bad gig for a 15 year old!

Anything else we should know? I think it’s important to educate ourselves about the products we consume and use both on ourselves and our surroundings. Especially those of us with children. While I know they’re impossible to completely avoid, I think it’s important to make an effort to try to reduce the use of harsh chemicals and synthetics in our everyday lives.
