Americares provides millions of people around the world access to medicine and supplies. Their clinical services deliver quality health care for people who have none. They create and support sustainable programs that strengthen community health.

Americares Response to COVID-19

Currently, Americares is using every resource to fight the COVID-19 pandemic with partners here in the United States and around the world. They are focused on ensuring that frontline health workers can stay safe and continue to do life-saving work on behalf of patients with COVID-19, and those in need of care for other essential health services and life-threatening conditions. This takes a coordinated effort between federal, state, and local authorities, global and local nonprofits, community action, and all of us. That’s a cause we can get behind!

Americares is delivering protective supplies including masks, gowns, gloves, and disinfectants, as well as leading support groups and skill-building workshops for health workers in COVID-19 hot spots. Americares has provided protective gear and infection control supplies to health facilities in the United States, the Bahamas, Haiti, Hondurus, India, Lebanon, the Philippines, and Tanzania. In the US alone, Americares has delivered 23 tons of protective supplies to health facilities in 38 states with more international and domestic shipments planned.

“You have the power to change the course of this global disaster by following the basic steps of preparedness, prevention, and protection – the keys to slowing the infection rate of the global pandemic and keeping our health system from being overwhelmed. This means washing your hands, social distancing, covering your cough, and not touching your face. And the most important step now: stay home, stop the spread, save lives.”

You can get more facts ad information about COVID-19 from Americares on their webpage which is updated daily with the latest information. Americares gets an A rating with Charity Navigator, with 98.9% of their total expenses spent on the programs and services they deliver. Share the Love: Ocean Conservatory

Did you know that Ambre Blends donates 1% of all online sales to charity? When you shop online, you have the chance to select one environmentally-focused charity for a list of five. One of those organizations is Ocean Conservatory, a movement to protect our oceans.

Our ocean faces many threats like the onslaught of ocean trash, overfishing, and ocean acidification. With your help, Ocean Conservancy is developing innovative solutions to protect and save the ocean from today’s greatest global challenges. The ocean is at the center of who we are. What happens to the ocean impacts all of us; it produces half the air we breathe every day, the food we eat, and the water we drink. “What happens to the ocean impacts all of us,” said Janis Searles Jones, CEO of Ocean Conservancy.

Since it was founded in 1972, Ocean Conservancy has accomplished many incredible things for whales and wildlife, local communities, and the ocean. One of the first initiatives was the Whale Protection Fund, which focused on saving whales and protesting commercial whaling by Russia and Japan. Ocean Conservancy raised support to invest in scientific research and launched petitions to raise awareness about the whaling industry. That paid off when the International Whaling Commission finally banned commercial whaling in 1982.

While their work in the early years focused on saving different species that live in the ocean, they knew they couldn’t protect these species without protecting their habitat, which is when they shifted to a more ecosystem-based approach. Ocean Conservancy was one of the first environmental organizations to engage industries in conservation, which is still a key part of their mission today.

Over the years, the mission of Ocean Conservancy grew and solidified to make them who they are now: a science-based organization that stands on the absolute conviction that each individual can make a positive difference for our ocean. Ocean Conservancy is dedicated to finding solutions to the biggest threats facing our ocean. The ocean is our responsibility, what happens to it impacts all of us.
